Miguel Mata, NP

Miguel is a certified family nurse practitioner native to the RGV with 10 years of practice experience and approximately 9 of those 10 years have been in vascular medicine. He graduated high school from La Joya Senior High School in 2008 and graduated with Bachelors of Science in Nursing from UTRGV, formerly UTPA, in 2013. He completed a distance learning program from University of Cincinnati Ohio where he earned a Masters Degree in Nursing to become an advanced practice registered nurse. In college, Miguel was near to completing a pre-med program as a biology major and minor in chemistry when life threw a curveball that directed him towards nursing instead.

Miguel became a certified lymphatic therapist through the Norton School of Lymphatics in 2018, which has helped immensely in understanding treatment options for both lower and upper extremity swelling. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family. He is a fan of the San Antonio Spurs though he also enjoys watching NFL games and even participates in fantasy football.
