Burning Legs
What are Burning Legs?
Burning legs can be associated with both venous and arterial disease. In the context of vein-related issues, such as chronic venous insufficiency, the burning sensation may arise due to poor blood circulation and the pooling of blood in the legs. This condition is often characterized by damaged valves in the veins, leading to blood backflow and increased pressure. Contrarily, arterial disease, such as peripheral arterial disease, can cause a burning sensation in the legs due to reduced blood flow, typically due to narrowed or blocked arteries. The office-based diagnostic testing performed at StrideCare will help find the underlying cause of a burning sensation and allow our vascular specialists to create a treatment plan.
