Suzanne Slonim, MD is a board-certified vascular and interventional radiologist, as well as a leading uterine fibroids expert. Having performed over 32,000 procedures, Dr. Slonim specializes in helping patients live fibroid free. Dr. Slonim has published over 23 scientific articles in peer-reviewed journals, authored the book, Pain-Free Periods — Banish Menstrual Misery, Fight Fibroids, and Get Your Life Back, and trained many doctors in her techniques.
Dr. Slonim received her education and training from several prestigious universities, including George Washington University School of Medicine, UCLA, and Stanford University. She completed her residency training in diagnostic radiology at The Lahey Clinic in Boston, then went on to become fellowship trained in interventional radiology at Stanford University in Palo Alto, California.
In 2000, Dr. Slonim moved to Dallas. She was honored with fellowship in the Society of Interventional Radiology in 2012 and fellowship in the American College of Radiology in 2013.
Before founding the Fibroid Institute, Dr. Slonim was the first woman to serve as medical staff president at Methodist Dallas Medical Center. She was also a partner and president of Radiology Consultants Association. She has become a leader in the field of interventional radiology, specializing in treating uterine fibroids. She has consistently received the Texas Super Doctor award in Texas Monthly and voted D Magazine’s Best Doctor in Dallas in her category.
Dr. Suzanne Slonim knows firsthand what it’s like to struggle with heavy periods and painful menstrual cramps. She doesn’t believe the uterus is disposable, even for women who don’t foresee a future pregnancy. That’s why she has made it her life’s mission to help women who suffer from uterine fibroids improve and eliminate their symptoms—all without major surgery. Dr. Slonim treats every patient as if she is her own sister and is honored that women are willing to entrust her with their care.
